CORN CHOWDER


4 slices of bacon cooked until crisp, cooled and crumbled
Save bacon grease to sauté vegetables (if you want to you can use olive oil to sauté the vegetables.)

2 cups of diced potatoes
1 cup of diced green, yellow, red peppers
1/2 cup diced onion
Chopped garlic to taste
2 cups of kernel corn
1 cup of cream corn
Salt and pepper

Place the corn, cream corn and potatoes in pot and cook over medium heat until the potatoes are tender. (If you use canned corn add the juice to the pot to cook the potatoes. Also if you use canned corn add a can of each type of corn.)

How much water you add to the pot to cook the potatoes depends on how much company shows up. Make sure there is enough water to keep it from boiling dry.

Once the potatoes are tender, add the peppers, onion and garlic that have been sautéed in the bacon grease or olive oil.

Add crumbled bacon

If you want to you can add homemade chicken stock or boiled chicken to the pot and this really makes a meal with some homemade Banaha, Biscuits or fry bread.
